Tearing things out is the easy part but still quite important. We pulled out the seats and shiftR on the car and disassembled the dash. This car still had a functioning HVAC that will be jettisoned. The front cavity where the HVAC lives is quite spacious and we may relocated the battery here - as we have on our ArtCar2.
The wiper motor and fluid jets and many other brackets were removed. Airbags are getting deleted so the dash is starting to empty out. We know from previous builds that things can get noisey under the dash so we will add some addition insulation here...
Even though these chassis are ambidexterous, we still needed to cut additional holes into the dash. The steering rack was initially a concern until we scrutinized it closer. We think we will not need to make any major changes to the steering shaft as our measurements suggest we will be OK. If we were converting from LHD to RHD, we would have to change the rack itself. In this case, we should be OK.
We plan to install a non-airbag wheel instead of the factory one shown here...the build really looks cool and we are getting more excited by the day...
